About Copy That Clears

Copy That Clears is an independent explainer site run by a team of finance enthusiasts. We follow money as it moves around the world, from central bank decisions to new payment rails and crypto rules, and we explain what changed in plain English.

Why we started

Finance news moves fast, and most of it arrives wrapped in jargon. A new stablecoin launches, a regulator changes a rule, or a payment network sets a record. The headline tells you it happened. It rarely tells you how it works or why it matters to you.

We started Copy That Clears to close that gap. In payments, a transaction clears when it finally goes through. We want every explanation on this site to do the same: get through the jargon and land with the reader.

What we cover

  • Payments: instant payment systems, card and merchant fees, and the rules behind them
  • Crypto and stablecoins: how digital money works, who earns what and what regulators decide
  • Credit and BNPL: how lenders and pay-later companies make money, and what new rules change

We write for curious readers everywhere, whether you work in finance, run a business or simply want to understand your money better.

How we work

Every article starts with primary sources: company filings, central bank releases, regulator rules and official statistics. We link to each one, date every article and update it when the facts change.

We never give investment advice, and nobody pays us to cover a company. Read the full editorial standards to see how we research, check and correct our work.
